If you've been trained in Motivational Interviewing, and have an understanding of the spirit, skills and strategies of the approach, and would like an opportunity to improve your MI use through practice and feedback, you are welcome to attend our MI Skill Development Groups. Each month, we gather to consider some aspect of MI through the lens of our shared expertise, and then practice with one another, doing our best to provide each other with helpful feedback.

“MI Snacks” are a quick “Tastes of MI.” 
Each “snack” is just an hour long,
Each class offers a brief exploration and practice of one element of MI.

These quick classes are perfect for folks who are brand new to MI,
as well as for folks who want to a refresher.

If your MI skills and practice has gotten a little rusty
this might be a good choice for you.

Motivational Interviewing (MI): Beyond the Basics (3 CE Hours)

This 2 day training focuses on the basics of MI and moves participants to an intermediate level practice. Discussion topics include the Spirit of MI, OARS, Directional Objectives and Change Talk. This is an interactive learning experience involving small group practice, video and audio samples, as well as instructor led demonstrations. 

Intermediate/Advanced Motivational Interviewing Training

This 12-hour Intermediate workshop is highly experiential and designed for individuals who have taken the Introduction to MI workshop, and using MI in their practice.

Motivational Interviewing Two Day Zoom Training

In this course there will be a review of the underlying spirit, structure and principles of Motivational Interviewing. This course invites and challenges students to look deeper, to do more complex reflections, and to give themselves more feedback. Participants will look at the skills that will help get clients to the ambivalence and the struggle. At the end of the course participants will Demonstrate and practice MI in action by applying MI in a live, recorded conversation.
